About us

BPS is a local Non Govt. Voluntary Organization established in 1983 with a view of introducing minimum ethics in the society or in culture. But at the time of implementation it was found that it is very hard enough to bring minimum honesty in the society. Without the development of socio-economic infrastructure, Turning of BPS movement to right direction (motion) and start to work with the view of socio-economic development among the marginalized rural people. Within a short time BPS activities spring with in much people. Behind all this, we agree with the contribution of some committed initiators who have feelings for unhealthy marginalized rural people. BPS is combined effort of long term participatory in human development.

BPS is registered with the Directorate of Social Service, Government of Bangladesh vide Registration. No. Siraj-136 (Pabna292)/86. BPS is also registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau vide Regd. No- DSS/FDO-R-350 Dated: 01.01.1990. BPS processes relevant documents & approved constitution to work with the people for their development. It was timely affiliated with consistent Govt. and Non Govt. Organization inside the country, BPS is affiliated with GO, NGO, religious leaders, elected bodies, local elites, political and cultural leaders civil society teachers and educationist, Association for Development Agency in Bangladesh (ADAB) and NGO-Forum inside the country and ICDDRB, Prip Trust & Men and Boyes Network South Africa. BPS built intimate co-operation with other related local Govt. and Non Govt. Organization to ensure much participation and available resource utilization.

It is our realization that an overall development is not achievable without the development of men & women and gender equity. At the year of women’s world conference of 2011, we traced on giving preference women in development and make a positive change within its physical and methodological infrastructure. A new direction was added within on going program activities. Women’s participation increased within execution and implementation level. We emphasize to provide maximum services for female group members.

Bangladesh Pragati Sangstha (BPS) is on the path to a green future. In order to combat the adverse effects of climate change and increase the use of renewable energy, Bangladesh Pragati Sangstha (BPS) is implementing an initiative to install clean energy technologies in various educational institutions. Under this initiative, a 1,000-watt solar system has been installed at Kanchaneshwar Government Primary School, Madhainagar Union, Tarash Upazila, Sirajganj District. In addition, a 600-watt wind turbine and a 585-watt solar system have been installed at Kantanagar, Government Primary School, Tekani Union, Kazipur Upazila, Sirajganj District. These renewable energy systems will help meet the school's electricity needs, reduce carbon emissions, and raise awareness among students about environmental conservation and sustainable development. Bangladesh Pragati Sangstha (BPS) believes that the expansion of renewable energy is one of the most effective ways to build a safe, clean, and climate-resilient future. Bangladesh Pragati Sangstha (BPS) is committed to people, environment and sustainable development. During the installation of the two systems, he was present on the ground and directly observed the work. (PRAGYA) Solution Manager Mr. Rojario John, (BPS) Deputy Director Ashraful Alam Palash, PRAN Project Program Officer Mohsin Ali, Assistant Program Officer Babul Hossain, and other teachers and teachers were also present. (PRAGYA) has financially supported the PRAN project. (PRAGYA) Solution Bangladesh provided cooperation and advice. Bangladesh Pragati Sangstha (BPS) Tarash, Sirajganj was responsible for the implementation.




Implementation of agricultural development activities during the Kharif season Bangladesh Pragati Sangstha (BPS) has set up two research and demonstration (R&D) plots in villages of Tarash Upazila and Kazipur Upazila of Sirajganj district to familiarize farmers with climate-tolerant and modern agricultural technologies during the Kharif season. One R&D plot has been set up in Banshbaria village of Naogaon Union of Tarash Upazila and the other in Bhabanipur village of Chalitadanga Union of Kazipur Upazila. Two Farmer Field Schools (FFS) were conducted at both places to enhance the practical knowledge and skills of farmers, and two conclaves were held to exchange agricultural technology and share experiences. The event was attended by Mr. Bahauddin Zakaria, representative of PRAGYA Solutions, and Mr. Pulak Kumar, Assistant Agricultural Officer of the Department of Agricultural Extension. In addition, farmers from different unions, local dignitaries and development workers of Bangladesh Pragati Sangstha (BPS) participated. The discussion exchanged views on modern agricultural technology, coping with the effects of climate change, sustainable agricultural systems, more productive crop production and various strategies to increase farmers' income. The participants visited the R&D plots and gained practical experience about the technologies demonstrated at the field level. Bangladesh Pragati Sangstha (BPS) will continue such activities in the future to increase the capacity of farmers and develop sustainable agriculture. The PRAN project is being financially supported by (PRAGYA). (PRAGYA) Solution Bangladesh is providing various advice and assistance, while Bangladesh Pragati Sangstha Tarash Sirajganj is implementing it.




CET program was held in Sirajganj, organized by Bangladesh Pragati Sangstha (BPS). Youth, students, local government officials, teachers, electricity workers, farmers, and a part of civil society, officials from various levels of government and private sector. There, how can renewable energy be used for the long-term future? And how to deal with the risks of climate change were discussed. Here, Mr. Bahauddin Zakaria, Program Officer of (Pragya) Solutions, introduced the various benefits and parts of the hybrid solar system and wind turbine vertical, which were donated to Kanchaneshwar Government Primary School in Tarash Upazila of Sirajganj, and Kantanagar, Government Primary School in Natuarpara Union of Kazipur Upazila of Sirajganj district. And made people aware of the use of renewable energy, climate change and various issues. Mr. Karim Box, the founding executive director of BPS, also spoke at the event. He said that if the use of renewable energy can be increased, greenhouse gases in the air can be reduced, and if greenhouse gases are reduced, the rate of global temperature increase can be reduced,

★ This reduces global warming,

★ Climate change can be slowed down.

★ Excessive heat flow, floods, droughts, cyclones and can be reduced.

And if this is maintained, we think it is possible to reduce climate change. He requested people from all walks of life to cooperate in reducing greenhouse gases. And requested them to use renewable energy for the long-term future. Bangladesh Pragati Sangstha (BPS) Sirajganj is implementing this project with financial support (Pragya).

The vision of BPS is to create a society free from starvation, oppression, and exploitation, where every individual will be able to live in peace and harmony and enjoy their rightful share of resources belonging to the society through the empowerment of powerless people and local resource mobilization.

BPS development mission is based on the conviction that the paramount need of the people is not relief but the unleashing of their potential for personal, social, economic, and civic growth and development. The BPS development objectives are based on 3 interrelated principles.
